HOW SOCIAL SECURITY DECIDES IF YOU ARE DISABLED IN LA

Every year, the Social Security Administration automatically adjusts earnings amounts, SGA levels, and other measures that it uses to determine payments.

Facebook-Here are the automatic Social Security Administration adjustments for 2015, effective since January 1 this year.

The Social Security Administration annually adjusts a number of measures that it uses to determine whether a person qualifies for benefits, or to determine his payment amounts.

The Substantial Gainful Activity Limit for 2015 for persons, who suffer from any disability, is $1,090 per month. However, there is an entirely different limit for persons who suffer from blindness. For these persons, the SGA earning amount level is $1,820 per month.

If you have decided to try going back to work in order to increase your earnings, then the Social Security Demonstration offers you a trial work period program. This trial work period allows you to test whether you are able to work for a living. The trial work period will continue for at least nine months, and during this time, you will receive your full disability benefits as long as you continue to suffer from the disabling impairment. In 2015, earnings per month that are used to determine if the month counts as a Trial Appeared are $7$80 per month.

This year, the monthly Medicare Part A Hospital Insurance base premium is $407. The 45% reduced premium is $224. The Part B Supplemental Medical Insurance-based premium per month is $104.90.

The Social Security Administration will consider the monthly earnings of disabled persons who continue to work to determine if the person is earning enough to have his earnings replace some of his benefits. The earnings thresholds are different for every state. In California, in 2015, the threshold is $37,805.
